Czech commemorative coins

The first Czech commemorative coin, a silver 200-crown coin featuring “Protection and Creation of the Environment” was produced in Czech Mint in 1994. The type and denomination of commemorative coins is determined in the Czech National Bank’s Issue Plan. Czech Mint manufactures for CNB silver and gold commemorative coins in standard and proof quality.

Commemorative coins are minted in limited editions in compliance with relevant laws and under supervision of the Czech National Bank. Therefore they are available for a certain period of time only and in limited quantity.

Mintage of both circulation and commemorative coins is subject to rigorous control and inspection of the Czech National Bank; stringent security measures apply during coinage production and handling.

Currently available Czech commemorative coins can be viewed on our e-shop.
