24.11.2009 - MEDAL OF JAROSLAV HEYROVSKY
The Czech Mint is issuing a new "one-ounce" medal made of pure gold. The medal is dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary from granting the Nobel Prize to the notable Czech scientist, chemist and inventor, father of electroanalytical chemistry Jaroslav Heyrovsky (1890-1967) for chemistry (1959).

12.11.2009 - MEDAL OF SIGMUND FREUD
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary from the death of the Czech/Austrian physician, psychiatrist and the creator of the psycho-analysis theory Sigmund Freud the Czech Mint is going to issue a commemorative silver medal in December. The medal will come in January 2010 into sale. The medal dedicated to this world-known Czech countryman of the Autstrian origin (born 1856 in Pribor/Austro-Hungarian monarchy (today Czech Republic)) is unique in that the graphic design has been worked out by Freud´s great-granddaughter Mrs. Jane McAdam Freud. By this act, the world-famous British sculptor and artist has dedicated its work to the remembrance of her great-grandfather as well.
The silver medal will be made of pure silver in a proof quality, the weight will be 42 grams, the diameter 50 milimetres.

As of today, the Czech Mint issues as a medal with a bizarre effigy of the Emperor Rudolph II. by his similarly famous painter of the Italian origin - Giuseppe Arcimboldo. The motif of the emperor´s portrait consists of various fruits and plants.
The medals are minted both in silver as well as gold versions. The medals´parameters are as follows:
Gold Au 999,9 - diameter 37 mm, weight 31,1 g, max. issue limit 500 pcs.

07.01.2009 - 200 CZK COIN - CZECH PRESIDENCY TO THE E.U. - On the 7th January 2009 the Czech National Bank issued a new commemorative silver coin - "Czech Presidency to the Council of the European Union". The coin is minted by the Czech Mint and exists in both qualities - BU as well as PROOF. The face-value is 200 Czech Crowns. The author of the coin is Mr. Josef Oplistil. The initial price makes 20 EUR for the PP-coin and 12 EUR for the BU-coin.
4.9.2008 - CIRCULATION COINS SET 2008 PROOF + 100-DUCAT OF ST. WENCESLAS SOLD OUT - Dear customers, we would like to announce that the Czech Mint is no longer accepting orders on the currency set 2008 in the proof quality. The total impression of this set, which is coming to the market by the end of September, has been exhausted base on the orders arrived thus far. Simultaneously, we have to stop receipt of orders on the "100-ducat of St. Wenceslas". The orders received till now are going to be fulfilled subsequently.
18.8.2008 - 200 CZK COIN - 100 Anniversary of the Foundation of the Czech Ice-Hockey Association - On the occasion of the 100 years of existence of the Czech Ice-Hockey Association the Czech National Bank is issuing the new commemorative silver coin - the sixth and the last one in 2008. The face-value is 200 CZK again. The author of the coin is the sculptor Mr. Zbynek Fojtu. There will be minted 10.600 pcs. in the BU-quality and 15.100 pcs. in the PP-quality of the coin. The price makes 23 EUR for the PP-coin and 15 EUR for the BU-coin.
6.8.2008 - CIRCULATION COIN SET 2006 PROOF SOLD OUT - The Czech Mint has sold out circulation coin sets 2006 in the proof quality. Present orders are being carried out subsequently, the receipt of new orders has been stopped.
7.7.2008 - ALL-COMPANY HOLIDAY - In the term of 21.7.-3.8.2008 there will be a holiday at the Czech Mint. In this period the works on orders will be stopped. Receipt of written orders is continuing however (via the Czech Mint´s e-shop, with an e-mail, fax or letter). Thank you for your understanding.
10.6.2008 - MEDAL OF PROFESSOR JIRI HARCUBA ISSUED - The Czech Mint has issued a medal on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the living legend of Czech medal creation arts - professor Harcuba. The medal has been created as a self-portrait of Mr. Harcuba.
4.6.2008 - CHARLES IV. AND HIS WIVES SOLD OUT - Dear customers, let us inform you that the Czech Mint has stopped a receipt of new orders on the set of gold medals "Charles IV. and His Wives". The reason is a huge demand surplus to our issue limit. Existing orders shall be executed subsequently. Those customers, whose orders fail to be fulfilled, are going to be informed.
27.5.2008 - 200-CZK COIN PONREPO IN SALE - On the 28 May 2008 the Czech National Bank issues a new 200-CZK silver coin dedicated to Viktor Ponrepo (1858-1926), a pioneer in the field of the Czech cinematography and owner of the first ever stationary cinema in Czech countries, concretely in Prague. The coin minted by the Czech Mint will be available in both the PP as well as the BU quality. The coin specifics: Ag 900, diameter: 31 mm , weight: 13 g. Prices: 22 EUR PP coin/14 EUR BU coin.
27.5.2008 - 2500-CZK GOLD COINS SOLD OUT - Due to a high interest of our customers in commemorative gold coins "Suspension bridge in Stadlec" and "Brewery in Plzen/Pilsen" having a face-value of 2.500 CZK, the Czech Mint is forced to stop the receipt of new orders of these coins. The number of coins demanded exceeds the disposable volume of coins significantly.
QUINTDUCAT+JOSEF SKUPA SOLD OUT- Dear customers, the Czech Mint has recently definitely sold out the Quintducat of the Czech Republic 2008 dedicated to baroque arts of the Czech lands and the silver medal commemorating Josef Skupa, the founder of the puppet theatre of Spejbl and Hurvinek.
NEW CIRCULATION COIN SET - On the occasion of the "2008 European Football Championship" in Austria and Switzerland on June 7-29th the Czech National Bank issues an extraordinary new Czech coins set in the BU quality. The set is going to be minted by the Czech Mint again. For the Czech Republic the championship is also interesting for being qualified for a participation. The championship shall be initiated with a match of the national football team against the hosting country - Switzerland. This set of circ. coins comes in early June to the market. The assumed price makes 15 EUR.
SCHENGEN 200 CZK COIN IN SALE - As of March 27, 2008 the Czech Mint starts selling of a brand new commemorative silver coin of a face-value 200 CZK. The issuer of the coin is the Czech National Bank and the coin has been minted by the Czech Mint again. The coin commemorates the fresh accession of the Czech Republic to the Schengen Convention. The coin is available at either 22 EUR for the proof quality or 14 EUR for the quality standard.
